Isabel André

Isabel André was born in Lisbon, 1956. She’s a geographer, an associate professor at the University of Lisbon’s Instituto de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território (IGOT-UL), and a researcher at the Centre for Geographical Studies. She is a member of both the Scientific Council and the Board of IGOT. She teaches units on the subjects of research methodology, cultural geography and political geography. Her research interests include social and territorial innovation, gender studies, as well as regional and urban development in connection with culture and creativity. She has coordinated several research projects on public policy regarding territorial issues. She has organized various national and international scientific meetings, and she has published multiple papers in Portugal and abroad.
